Judy Host
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Judy moved to Los Angeles when she was 4 years old. In high school she became passionate about photography and considered becoming a professional portrait photographer. Upon graduation though, she decided to pursue a degree in Speech Communications and would wait almost 20 years to start her own Photography business. Today, after creating a successful business in photography for over 25 years, Judy has redefined the portrait photography world with her unique talent for capturing the heart and spirit of each individual she photographs and has earned her the respect and recognition of her colleagues. Her photography has been internationally recognized for its innovative style and technique. Recently her work was selected for exhibition in the Valade Family Gallery in Detroit, MI, the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA and the Albrecht-Kemper Art Museum in MO. In March 2017, Judy sold her first collection of Ballet images to MGM Resort Int’l for a permanent installation at the Park Theater Monte Carlo Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Her collection is the only artwork in the entire building.
In addition, her work has been selected for national exhibition by the Professional Photographers of America, (PPA) from whom she has received the coveted Master of Photography and Craftsman degrees. Among Judy’s awards for outstanding environmental portrait photography, she has earned multiple Kodak Gallery Awards, an award given to those photographers who excel in creativity and the pursuit of excellence in quality. Her clients include: InStyle Magazine,Warner Bros., Hollywood Foreign Press, Sigma Photo Corporation, Modern Luxury Magazine, Oursayso London Ad Agency, IHG, MGM Resorts Int’l, Salt Agency/Atlanta and the Atlanta Ballet.
Honored as a Sigma Pro for the Sigma Corporation from 2012 -2019, a significant distinction shared with five top professionals in the industry.
