Ron McKinney
Ron McKinney has been photographing dancers for 15 years. His interest was piqued by performances he saw when he was a freelance photographer in 2008. As Ron’s business grew, he dedicated himself to learning about dance and about photographing dancers. His work has been featured in three gallery shows and he’s been published in Dance Magazine, Pointe Magazine, and many others. He offers both artistic sessions and works with more than 20 Chicago–area dance studios taking recital portraits. His studio in Crystal Lake is 3,250 sq feet, and features a 32-foot wide backdrop with hi-shine marley flooring. He founded Pas de Deux Photo, LLC, in 2019 with his wife, Beth, as a way to build a community among dance photographers worldwide, and educate photographers interested in photographing dancers.
